BEE COCKTAIL – WAY TO GIVE AND RECOMMENDATION

Following the last week’s article about the bee cocktail, I was asked to give more information concerning its composition, dose, way to give, rules of keeping it.

I will start by asking you to talk to the apitherapist to establish a diagnosis and a protocol specific to the age, sex, weight and diseases you suffer from.

The bee cocktail is different for categories of age:

  • in the cocktail for children, one can find: honey (a type specific to children), raw pollen – frozen, propolis (powder and/or greasy extract – not tincture of propolis because of the alcohol it contains), in very small quantities: drone larvae and royal jelly;
  • the cocktail for men contains: honey (usually manna honey), raw pollen – frozen, tincture of propolis and drone larvae, and the cocktail for women contains: honey, raw pollen – frozen, tincture of propolis and royal jelly.

The doses for each component are established taking into account several aspects (age, weight, diseases, etc.). The usual dose is one spoonful twice a day (in the morning and in the afternoon) for adults and 1 teaspoonful twice a day (in the morning and in the afternoon) for children. During critical periods of time one more dose can be supplemented in the morning.

It has to be given at least half an hour before meals, on the empty stomach.

Some pieces of advice we have to take into account: every time before giving it, one has to mix it.

Honey has the characteristic of “self-cleaning”, bringing to its surface everything that does not belong to it (small wings or bee feet, larvae that have accidentally come out of cells during the extraction from honeycombs, wax), that is why in a preparation with honey, too, honey has the tendency to deposit at the bottom of the container and the components (the pollen, the propolis, the tincture of propolis, etc.) to be above; it is kept in the fridge; it is kept in the mouth as long as possible for a better absorption; a cure of at least three months will be kept.
