HOW TO GIVE POLLEN

When giving pollen, we have to take into account several aspects.

If we don’t suffer (or we don’t know that we suffer) from any disease, but we want to consume it due to its contribution of high quality nourishing elements, then we can consume one spoonful daily, in the morning before eating anything, with a glass of water (stilled, from a well or a spring/source) with 2-3 drops of lemon juice (which breaks the exine – the cover of the pollen grain) or with natural fruit juice.

Many people are allergic to pollen. You have to know that most allergies to pollen are due to the “airborne pollen”, the anaemophil pollen (the pollen carried by the wind) and not to the pollen processed by bees. However there are people who get allergies to the pollen harvested by bees (respiratory allergies, food allergies). Some grains of pollen look like a “mace”, “micro-needles” of the cover (of the exine) and that’s why they can cause stomach ache to the people who suffer from stomach diseases. These people should consume pollen after having had their main meals.

We can find pollen in the commerce or to beekeepers, raw – frozen or dried. We have to take into account the fact that by getting dried, pollen loses not only its water, but also its volatile oils and active principles.

If we buy raw- frozen pollen, we go on keeping it into the freezer, and every time we want to consume it, we take the necessary dose straight from the freezer. Research on the quality of pollen show that pollen can be frozen and thawed/defrozen 3 times without losing its characteristics, provided that it is not kept thawed for too long before freezing it again.

If we suffer from a disease we heard or/and read the pollen might help, then we must get in touch with a doctor who has got apiphytotherapeutical competences (apitherapist) to prescribe us the dose, the period of time, the way of giving it.
